Friday Five: 5 Anime Songs From My Childhood

**This post was undoubtedly ignited by my New York Comic Con hangover.

Last week I had the pleasure of attending New York Comic Con 2016. It was my first convention and I had a BLAST. There were tons of cosplayers, lots of things (books, plushies, and buttons) for me to spend my money on, and a community of people who loved my Pikachu hat.

Today's Friday Five is dedicated to 5 songs from anime that hit me right in the nostalgia. For those who aren't familiar with anime or its tunes, still give it a shot. Good music is good music in any language.

1. Do As Infinity x Shinjitsu no Uta (Inuyasha Ending 5) English Translation

This is definitely the road trip song that makes you look out of the window and contemplate life. All of the memories came rushing back when I heard this song played at one of the NYCC vendors. I was thrust back into 2004 when my daily dilemma was Kagome or Kikyo.

2. Do As Infinity x Fukai Mori (Inuyasha Ending 2) English Translation

Inuyasha is one of the GOATs when it comes to ending music. Nuff said.

3. 1000% Sparking x Rina Satou, Akemi Kanda, Ai Nonaka, Yu Kobayashi (one of the many Negima adaptations) English Translation

I started reading the Negima manga around the same time I started watching Inuyasha. However, I didn't find this song until my freshman year of college after watching the anime adaptation. It's so upbeat and fun. If you were in to Dance Dance Revolution in your youth, this is for you.

4. Mawatari Matsuko x Hohoemi no Bakudan (YuYu Hakusho) English Translation

You can't mention anime openings without Smile Bomb. Congratulations to YuYu Hakusho for hitting its 20th anniversary mark!!

5. Utada Hikaru x Hikari (Kingdom Hearts) **This one is in English. And yes, I know it's from a video game.

Remember that time Disney took a chance at making a video game and ruined our lives? Yeah me too. I don't know many people who don't know SOMETHING about Disney's whirlwind RPG. Get lost in your feels while you listen to this gem.

Hit me up on Twitter, Facebook, or in the comments below with your 5 songs!
